A recipient of a National Magazine Award for Photojournalism, Doug Wilson holds a Three Year Photographic Arts Diploma from Conestoga College in Kitchener, Ontario.
Doug has taught Photography and Photojournalism at Conestoga College in Kitchener and Mohawk College in Hamilton. His work has appeared in Harrowsmith, Equinox and Canadian Heritage Magazines, as well as numerous other publications. His photographs illustrated “To Market, To Market, The Public Market Tradition In Canada”.
For the past three years, Doug has explored the use of canvas as a means of isolating the subject from their environment. He and his wife, Lynda are currently working on a book on Rare Breeds in Canada using canvas to capture the authenticity of the relationship between person and animal.
