PHOTOGRAPHY MENTORSHIP PROGRAM

Customized. Individualized. Invaluable.
Apprenticeship Programs have a long tradition in photography. Working one-one-one with someone more experienced in a program tailored to your specific goals, is a sure way of accelerating your learning experience.
The single most important event in the development of my photography career was the help I received from one of my professors upon graduating from college. Professor Busse took me under his wing and guided me through the early days of my freelance career. He made himself available to help me map out a strategy that kick-stated my career and, with Professor Busse's help, I was able to define my goals and complete my portfolio. In short, he helped me fast-track my development as a photographer.
Your Program is Completely Customizable. I shall work with you to define your specific goals, identify any areas that need improvement and then, through a series of specifically designed lessons and assignments, provide one-on-one personal, telephone, and on-line consultations and critiques. Together we shall implement a work plan that will accelerate your development as a photographer. This program is for serious amateurs hoping to move to that next level of craftsmanship.
Individualized Tutoring is important because each person has a different goal. For example, you might decide you want to develop as a fine art photographer and build a portfolio that gives voice to who you are. Or you may be looking at developing a part-time photography business. Developing your personal vision and developing a personal style, technical questions, even marketing and business plan development, are all topics that can be incorporated into your own personal Mentorship Program.
Program Options and Cost
There are two completely customizable options available in the Mentorship Program to help you define and realize your individual goals. Each option will be crafted to help you expand and develop as a photographer.
Six-Month Option
The Six-Month Program option provides for one 2-hour personal or on-line session every three weeks plus up to one hour of telephone or on-line discussions per month, as well as a final two hour follow-up session after the six months period is complete. Personal sessions will include discussions of specific problems or needs, field sessions, photographic assignments, and critiques - all designed to meet your particular requirements and complete your portfolio.
One-Year Option
The One-Year Program option provides for one 2-hour personal or on-line session every three weeks plus up to one hour of telephone or on-line discussions per month, as well as a final two hour follow-up session after the year is complete. Personal sessions will include discussions of specific problems or needs, field sessions, photographic assignments, and critiques - all designed to meet your particular requirements and complete your portfolio.

Program Structure
Once you have been accepted into the program we shall meet (either face-to-face or on-line) to discuss your goals. I shall ask you to complete a Program Design from which you and I shall develop a personalized program that will help you achieve your goals.
Each individual Mentorship will be designed so there is a two-hour personal session every three weeks. This personal session can be used in any of a number of ways.. For example, you may feel that a field session would be helpful or we may decide together that the two-hour session is best spent in the studio critiquing your work. You will be given an assignment at each session that will follow the course structure and which will always be due for the following session. Between the personal sessions there can be up to two-hours of either telephone or on-line discussions to help you with your assignments or with specific questions or issues that arise.
