Who should take this workshop: Novice to advanced amateur, those with a desire to produce memorable images.
This workshop is designed to take your photography to the next level. Opening with a series of clearly illustrated lectures discussing the use and power of colour, colour relationships, and understanding and using natural light, the class then moves to a new location for a short field trip to put into practice the morning's discussion. This workshop also includes a primer on effective exposure metering. Then it's back to the studio to review the images from the field experience. Topics include:
- The meanings of colours and how to use them in your image making.
- Colour relationships (colour contrasts) in photography.
- High- and low-key compositions.
- How to expose for high- or low-key compositions.
- Exposure readings in "tricky" situations.
- How to produce dramatic images composing with light and colour.
- How to compose in black and white for dramatic results.
