J.D. (Doug) Wilson

A recipient of a National Magazines Award for Photojournalism, Doug Wilson holds a three-year Photographic Arts Diploma from Conestoga College in Kitchener, Ontario. 

His work has appeared in Harrowsmith, Equinox, and Canadian Heritage Magazines and his clients have included publishers in Canada and abroad including PMA Books, Macmillan Canada, Van Nostrand Reinhold and Coles.  His photographs illustrated "To Market, To Market: The Public Market Tradition in Canada".

For over 30 years, Doug has taught photography and photojournalism in private workshops, as well as through a variety of post-secondary institutions including Conestoga College Kitchener, and Mohawk College in Hamilton.

His fine art images are held in corporate and private collections throughout Canada.  Doug’s recent work explores our connection to the peace and stillness of the land through large (up to 48” x 60”) Giclee prints on canvas.
